The subject of the course is the interaction between Culture and Society during the second half of the twentieth Century, commonly known as Postmodernism, and its influence on our interpretation of the whole cognitive field (music, architecture, film, philosophy, technology, sociology etc). Theoretical and methodological problems within Postmodernism are analysed, as are their relation to other currents of ideas. The student s ability to independently analyse source material and relate to current research is trained on an advanced level.
