I am an anthro-ethnologist with a strong interest in political, economic and organizational anthropology. Currently, I am leading the ERC project CONSPIRATIONS . Across six European countries we analyze why some people endorse conspiracy theories and why others fear their consequences and design initiatives to push back against the 'post-truth' era. I am also a PI in the CHANSE project REDACT analyzing how digitalisation shapes the form, content, and consequences of conspiracy theories.
In addition, I am involved in research concerning foreign aid, humanitarianism and the world of NGOs. I am the author of Institutionalized Dreams: the art of managing foreign aid (Begrhahahn, 2020).
I have extensive fieldwork experience from South Sudan, Poland, and Ireland.
