I am an associate professor and reader in Information Studies, head of the Centre for Oresund Region Studies, a member of the research group "Information practices: Communication,Culture and Society", and a teacher at the ALM Master program.

My research interests mainly follow three tracks. One concerns information practices and learning, more specifically information literacy or media and information literacy, in various settings. My thesis concerns information literacy related to evaluation of contraceptives. The second track concerns information practices within the context of sexual health. The third track, that I currently focus on, concerns cultural policy, and particularly development of public libraries and the role that policy documents have for libraries and librarians. I am particularly interested in the role that libraries and librarians play in and for democracy.

Valid for all three tracks is an interest on how local practices take on a social function and significance.
