My dissertation research analyses the works of Lap See Lam and Forensic Architecture, comparing their artistic uses of the technical, aesthetic, and epistemic affordances of virtual spatial-modelling and -reconstruction technologies. My discussion of these artistic practices is carried out through the speculative lens of resolution--resolution here meaning image-resolution, but also emotional and political resolution.

Through this research trajectory, my dissertation engages in a broader inquiry about the exchanges between contemporary art and knowledge production, the aesthetics of virtual technologies, and contemporary notions of evidence and authenticity.

In my overall scholarly work, I am interested in questions regarding visualities of distance, the relationship between art and responsibility, simulative technologies, philosophy of art, and visual cultures of remote sensing and spatial modelling technologies.
