I am a health services researcher. My research focuses on the socio-cultural impact of biotechnological development on the provision of health services, self-care practices, and the organisation of the health market. I have conducted several projects including my PhD thesis on the subject of falsified medicines. My research findings shed light on the formation of grey zones in the globalised and digitalised health market and the intertwinement between legality and illegality, fake and authentic, trust and mistrust. This work was also used to inform the World Health Organisation Substandard And Falsified Medical Product Workgroup.

My ongoing project concerns the public views on the development of xenotransplantation.

Apart from research, I teach subjects on qualitative research methods and supervise master theses. I also coordinate the Medical Humanities Research Node at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences.
